Consider joining me and a lovely cohort of makers for ~~~ get on BOARD ~~~ a playful mixed media class! Together let’s explore cardboard’s versatility and the freedom it offers as support for drawing, painting, and collage.
NOVEL COURSE STRUCTURE
My courses provide a structure for creative engagement, offering a space for the exchange of ideas, the sharing of work, and the fostering of community. The camaraderie that happens in the class is meaningful and magical! Our classroom is a private hidden Facebook group. Zoom meetups kick off and conclude the class experience. Additionally, I speak directly to you about the important ideas and making strategies in weekly INTRO and DEMO videos. Although we don’t meet in person, you will be supported by a community of makers. The warmth and generosity of the participants is a hallmark of these classes.

EMAILS
Receive weekly emails chock full of assignments, handouts, demo videos, and other resources. Work at your own pace - from the comfort of your home/studio.
ZOOM
5:30-7pm CST
Gather twice on Zoom – at the start and conclusion of class. I record these gatherings. It is ok if you can’t make them.
Share your art and ideas in a private hidden Facebook group. Post work and engage according to your schedule and availability. Although attendance is not required, a weekly class time – 5:30-7pm CST- offers a deadline for assignments, timely feedback, and an opportunity to engage with your peers. I visit the FB classroom regularly and respond to all shared work.
For this 7-week experience, I charge on a sliding scale of $150-$200. I also offer one-on-one Facetime or Zoom meetups – 30 minutes for $45 - where I provide support - with a project from class or an independent creative pursuit.

FAQ
Is this a Zoom class?
No, although two Zoom gatherings will bookend the class. These meetings, at the beginning and one end, are an opportunity to see all the folks you will share this experience with, ask me any questions, engage in a playful making exercise. The rest of the class content arrives via email, and projects and experiences can be shared in our private Facebook group.
What is the purpose of the private Facebook group?
It is our classroom – a space to share your artwork, tips, techniques, questions, and your experiences with the projects. It is a warm and welcoming community space where you engage with your fellow participants. The group is private and only visible to those in the class.
Do I have to join the Facebook group to participate?
No. However, our Facebook classroom truly is a beautiful, shared space. It is a place of learning and exchange. It is where you will see the diversity of responses and interpretations to my prompts. It is where you can share your work and benefit from feedback – both from me and from your fellow participants.
How does class time work?
Class time functions as a deadline for assignments as well as a designated time together in our Facebook group. Class time does not happen on Zoom nor in Facebook live. I will be “in” the FB group for the duration of class time, with my fingers poised over the keyboard, writing, and providing feedback on every artwork shared. Participation is optional. Think of it as an open house. Drop by for 10 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, or pop in and out during this window of time. Class time is an opportunity to connect with your classmates and with me. If it does not work for your schedule or your style, you can still fully enjoy the class experience.
How do I know how much to pay?
The class is on a sliding scale. You decide what you want to pay within that range.
What if I want more support during class?
I’m happy to provide additional support with a one-on-one Zoom session. This can happen anytime during or after class for an additional $40.
What if I miss one or more class times?
This is NOT a problem. All the information you need to fulfill the prompts and assignments is in the emails. The private Facebook group - is always available – whatever your schedule or time zone. Class time is more symbolic. It acts as a deadline, as an opportunity to connect in the Facebook classroom with your peers, and to interact from me in real time.
What if I don’t complete all the assignments?
Not a problem! Many people do not. Work at the pace that fits your life and schedule. Post and share your work in the Facebook group when it is convenient for you, even after the official class ends. Although I will no longer visit and provide support in the group after the class ends, I leave the group up and you are welcome to continue to post and share and engage with your classmates.
